Rainbow Six Siege Upcoming 10th Year Anniversary

Rainbow Six Siege X Won't Be a New Game, But Will Have Major Updates

Rainbow Six Siege was initially released on December 1, 2015, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with subsequent ports to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2020. Over the years, Ubisoft has consistently updated the game, cementing its place as one of the longest-running live-service shooter games across multiple platforms. The major update with Siege X is poised to further extend the life of the Rainbow Six franchise.

In a Steam post dated February 17, 2025, Ubisoft introduced a new operator named Aurora, who can deploy bulletproof doors. Additionally, a new elite skin for operator Aruni and a new reputation system that rewards or penalizes players based on their in-game behavior during a season were announced. These features will be introduced in Season 1 of the game’s 10th year, dubbed Operation Prep Phase, on March 4, 2025, in celebration of the game's 10th anniversary.

Given the timing of Season 10’s launch and the scheduled showcase for Rainbow Six Siege X, it appears that these major upgrades will be implemented on the live servers at a later date.
