Best Redwing Decks in Marvel Snap

Mar 06,25

Marvel Snap's avian additions are few and far between, limited to Cosmo, Groose, Zabu, and Hit Monkey—until now. Redwing, Falcon's loyal companion, joins the roster as part of the Brave New World season.

Redwing's Mechanics in Marvel Snap

Redwing is a 3-cost, 4-power card with a unique ability: The first time it's moved, a card is added from your hand to its previous location.

However, there are limitations: Redwing's ability is one-time use only, even with cards like Symbiote Spider-Man or if returned to hand. Precise card targeting with Redwing proves challenging. Move decks often contain low-cost cards (like Iron Fist) you'd prefer not to deploy with it; conversely, Scream decks usually manipulate opponent's cards, not your own.

Despite these limitations, affordable movement options exist, such as Madame Web or Cloak (for lower Collection Level players). Redwing's potential for surprise wins is real, enabling early Galactus plays or summoning powerful cards like The Infinaut.

Optimal Redwing Decks (Day One)

Ares and Surtur dominated the previous season, returning with a Scream-based strategy enhanced by Aero and Heimdall. Redwing integrates surprisingly well, though Surtur typically takes priority on turn 3. This deck, however, is expensive, featuring several Series 5 cards:

  • Expensive Deck: Hydra Bob, Scream, Kraven, Captain America, Redwing, Polaris, Surtur, Ares, Cull Obsidian, Aero, Heimdall, Magneto. (Hydra Bob is replaceable with a 1-cost card like Rocket Raccoon or Iceman; others are essential.)

The strategy focuses on a turn 3 Surtur play, followed by high-power cards to boost its strength. Scream provides an alternative win condition by power stealing. Polaris, Aero, and Magneto offer card manipulation, while Redwing, when played into Heimdall, buffs Surtur and draws a high-power card.

Another potential Redwing deck utilizes Madame Web, as Dagger's nerf has diminished move decks' competitiveness:

  • Madame Web Deck: Ant-Man, Madame Web, Psylocke, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Luke Cage, Captain America, Redwing, Doom 2099, Iron Lad, Blue Marvel, Doctor Doom, Spectrum. (This deck includes two Series 5 cards: Madame Web and Doom 2099. Removing Madame Web necessitates Redwing's removal for another Ongoing card like Mobius M. Mobius.)

This is primarily a Doom 2099 Ongoing deck, aiming for rapid power distribution across locations. Madame Web facilitates this by repositioning Doom 2099 bots and offers another way to move Sam Wilson's shield. Redwing's activation is limited to this method. Turn 6 plays focus on Doctor Doom or Spectrum for power distribution or a decisive power spike.

Is Redwing Worth Investing In?

Currently, no. Redwing's power level is low, and its archetype is underpowered. Saving resources for future cards is advisable unless significant buffs are implemented.
