Insomniac Games' Ted Price reveals a missed opportunity: Resistance 4. In a recent interview following his retirement announcement after 30 years at the studio, Price confirmed that a Resistance 4 pitch was made but ultimately rejected due to "timing and market opportunity."

PlayDespite the setback, Price expressed the team's strong desire to continue the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' unique alternate history setting and the rich potential for exploring the Chimera's origins and future.

The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, debuted on the PlayStation 3. The games depict an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the Resistance trilogy, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the critically acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series and new installments in the Ratchet & Clank franchise.

Price's retirement announcement earlier this year paved the way for Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang to take the reins as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, and Marvel's Wolverine is next on the horizon.
