Square Enix has brought the beloved classic, SaGa Frontier 2: Remastered, to mobile and other platforms. Originally released on the PlayStation in 1999 in Japan and in 2000 in North America and Europe, this remaster revives the game with enhanced visuals and additional content.

SaGa Frontier 2: Remastered Is Now Available on Android

SaGa Frontier 2 unfolds in the mystical world of Sandail, where the power of magic is driven by a mysterious force known as Anima. The narrative primarily revolves around two protagonists: Gustave, a royal who lacks magical talent, and William Knights, a young adventurer hailing from a lineage of diggers who seek ancient relics called Quells.

Gustave's journey begins with his exile from the Kingdom of Finney due to his inability to wield Anima, a critical skill in their society. On the other hand, William, or Wil, embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind his parents' demise and the enigmatic relic known as the Egg, which has the power to manipulate minds.

The remastered version of SaGa Frontier 2 boasts upgraded graphics, now presented in higher resolution. The watercolor backgrounds are beautifully enhanced for clarity, and the user interface has been redesigned for improved navigation while preserving the game's classic feel.

The combat system retains its turn-based roots but introduces three distinct battle types: Party Battles, Duels, and Warfare. Party Battles are the standard RPG fare, Duels are intense one-on-one confrontations where strategy is key, and Warfare involves large-scale strategic engagements. Each type of combat offers a unique challenge, keeping the gameplay dynamic and engaging.

The remaster also revives the glimmer system from the original game, allowing players to learn new techniques during battles, along with a combo mechanic that encourages chaining attacks with teammates.
