Housemarque has thrilled fans with the announcement of their latest project, Saros, revealed during the February 2025 State of Play. Set to launch in 2026, this eagerly awaited title promises to elevate the gameplay experience established by their critically acclaimed game, Returnal.

Releasing in 2026

Saros will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro platforms. This new venture continues the legacy of Housemarque's 3rd-person action genre, introducing players to the protagonist Arjun Devraj, portrayed by the talented Hollywood actor Rahul Kohli. Fans can expect a captivating narrative and dynamic gameplay that builds upon the foundation laid by Returnal.

Come Back Stronger

According to Housemarque’s creative director, Gregory Louden, Saros aims to establish a unique identity while paying homage to Returnal. This new IP will expand on Returnal's storytelling and mechanics, offering players a fresh yet familiar experience. Unlike the ever-shifting biomes of Returnal, Saros introduces permanent and evolving loadouts, including weapons and suits. This innovative feature allows players to "Come Back Stronger," enhancing their chances of overcoming the game's formidable challenges.

An extended gameplay reveal is slated for later in 2025, giving fans more to look forward to as the release date approaches.
