Smite 2 Goes Free-to-Play Now

Apr 02,25

The highly anticipated free-to-play open beta of Smite 2 is now available on a variety of platforms including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Steam Deck. This exciting launch is accompanied by a fresh Smite 2 patch from Titan Forge Games, introducing a wealth of new content such as a new god, Aladdin, and the return of the beloved 3v3 Joust mode. The developer has teased that ambitious new content will be arriving in 2025, promising an even more engaging experience for players.

Announced a year ago, Smite 2 was designed as a sequel to the successful third-person MOBA, utilizing the power of Unreal Engine 5 to enhance visuals and refine combat mechanics. One of the significant updates includes a revamped item shop, allowing players to select items without being restricted by their god's classification. As with the original Smite, players will embody gods from diverse mythologies and engage in 5v5 battles to conquer the enemy team's base.

Since January 14, Smite 2's open beta has been accessible to players across multiple platforms, offering a free download experience. This update introduces a range of new content, headlined by the innovative god Aladdin. Aladdin's unique abilities enable him to run along walls and revive after death, thanks to his companion granting him three wishes. His ultimate ability captures enemies with his lamp, forcing them into a 1v1 confrontation, staying true to his legendary origins.
