Hazelight Studios, known for its excellent couch co-op games, has released its latest title, Split Fiction, which continues the studio's focus on cooperative gameplay. A key question on many gamers' minds is whether Split Fiction can be played solo.

Can You Play Split Fiction By Yourself?

Unfortunately, no. Like previous Hazelight Studios games, Split Fiction is designed entirely around cooperative play, either online or via couch co-op. There's no AI companion or single-player mode. The game's mechanics require precise timing and coordination between two players, making solo play effectively impossible.

How Does the Split Fiction Friend's Pass Work?

However, Hazelight offers a convenient solution: the Friend's Pass. This allows a friend to join the game, regardless of platform (PlayStation, Xbox, or PC), as long as one player owns a copy of Split Fiction. Here's how it works:

1. The game owner purchases Split Fiction on their chosen platform.
2. They then invite a friend to download the Friend's Pass on their platform.
3. The owner sends an invite to their friend.
4. Both players can then enjoy the full game together.

The Friend's Pass supports cross-platform play via PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app. Even using the EA Friends list works for sending invites. This makes it easy for friends to experience Split Fiction's cooperative gameplay together before committing to a purchase.
