Space Marine 2 Public Test Server Launches, Patch 7.0 Brings Major Updates
The first public test server (PTS) for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now live, offering fans an early glimpse into the highly anticipated Update 7.0 and its accompanying patch notes. In a community post, publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have shared that the preliminary patch notes for the PTS version encompass "most" of the features slated for the 7.0 update. However, they caution that the final 7.0 patch notes may differ, as the team continues to refine the game and address any bugs.
For PC players eager to explore the PTS, Update 7.0 introduces a range of exciting new content. This includes a new PvE mission named Exfiltration, a new secondary weapon—the Inferno Pistol—available for the Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes, the introduction of prestige ranks in PvE, and the addition of private PvP lobbies. Fans of customization will be delighted with new color options such as Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue, along with the ability to recolor Bulwark cloth and hands. Additionally, PvP rewards have been boosted by 50%. The PTS also features exclusive champion skins for the Tactical and Vanguard classes, with the Imperial Fists Champion for the Tactical class and the Space Wolves Champion for the Vanguard class.
Significant balance changes have also been implemented, notably expanding the weapon arsenal in PvE. Now, all classes can access a broader selection of weapons, including the Assault class's ability to wield the Power Sword without the need for mods. Players should review the detailed patch notes for a comprehensive understanding of the adjustments made to various weapons.
A noteworthy change in the Inferno Operation addresses previous issues with griefing. Now, if a player reaches the assembly area in the final stage, other players will be automatically teleported there after a notification and a brief delay, ensuring smoother gameplay and preventing intentional obstruction of progress.
