Top Spring 2025 Anime Recommendations

Among the many exciting releases this Spring, I've highlighted The Apothecary Diaries, Once Upon A Witch’s Death, The Beginning After The End, To Be Hero X, and WITCH WATCH as must-watch series on Crunchyroll. Here are some additional recommendations to keep on your radar:

Devil May Cry is Netflix's latest venture into video game adaptations, and it's poised to capture the essence of the original game with a soundtrack featuring Limp Bizkit and a new Evanescence track. With the creative genius of Adi Shankar, who brought us Castlevania and Guardians of Justice, and the talented animators at Studio Mir, known for Avatar: The Last Airbender and Korra, this series promises to deliver a thrilling experience, even for those new to the Devil May Cry universe. Fans of anime like Trigun will find the adventures of the edgelord Dante particularly engaging.

Moonrise presents a unique premise where the moon fights for independence. With blockbuster talent behind it, including WIT Studio, known for Attack On Titan and Vinland Saga, and character designs by Hiromu Arakawa of Fullmetal Alchemist fame, this original net animation is highly anticipated. Directed by Masashi Koizuka, who worked on Attack On Titan Seasons 2 & 3, Moonrise is shrouded in mystery, promising a special viewing experience.

Lastly, YAIBA: Samurai Legends brings back a beloved manga from the late 1980s, created by Gosho Aoyama of Case Closed fame. This samurai comedy follows Yaiba Kurogane in his battle against a formidable foe with a magical katana and a demon army. With WIT Studio at the helm and Aoyama's direct involvement, this series blends the humor of early Dragon Ball with the detective flair of Detective Conan, making it a must-watch for fans of both genres.
