Triangle Strategy Returns to Nintendo Switch eShop

RPG enthusiasts can celebrate! Triangle Strategy, the acclaimed Square Enix title, is back on the Nintendo Switch eShop after a temporary removal. This follows a recent acquisition of publishing rights by Square Enix from Nintendo, a move speculated to be the reason for the brief delisting.

The return of Triangle Strategy allows Nintendo Switch owners to once again purchase and download this popular tactical RPG. Known for its classic turn-based combat reminiscent of Fire Emblem, Triangle Strategy quickly gained recognition for its strategic gameplay and compelling narrative.

Following a four-day absence, Square Enix confirmed the game's return via Twitter. While the reason for the initial delisting remains officially unstated, the timing coincides with the transfer of publishing rights from Nintendo to Square Enix. This isn't unprecedented; Octopath Traveler experienced a similar, albeit longer, delisting last year.

This event underscores the strong relationship between Square Enix and Nintendo. The two companies have a long history of collaboration, evident in previous console exclusives like the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series and the initial release of Dragon Quest XI on the Switch. While Square Enix now releases titles across multiple platforms, the company's history of Nintendo exclusives, dating back to the original NES Final Fantasy, continues with titles like the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (currently PlayStation 5 exclusive). The return of Triangle Strategy reinforces this ongoing partnership.
