Star Wars: Hunters Announces Shutdown Even Before Turning One!

Apr 12,25

Star Wars: Hunters is facing an early shutdown, just shy of its first anniversary. The question on everyone's mind is whether celebrating a dying game's anniversary is even worth it. Despite the impending closure, the game is set to mark its one-year milestone before pulling the plug, offering fans a bittersweet moment to reflect on what could have been.

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers will officially go offline on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the road for the game after just nine months since its launch. Players have a few extra weeks to wrap up Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.

Zynga, the developer and publisher, is rolling out a final content update on April 15th, introducing the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, for free. In-game purchases will be disabled on the same day, so make sure to use any unspent Crystals as there won't be any refunds.

Ranked Mode will continue until the servers shut down, and events from the season will be rerun, giving players one last chance to enjoy the game.

It Isn’t Shocking

While it's sad to see Star Wars: Hunters go, the signs were there from the beginning. Announced in 2020, the game faced multiple delays and limited beta tests in the SEA and ANZAC regions. A delayed launch, absence of major console support, and a lukewarm reception all contributed to the game's unfortunate fate.

Even the design choices seemed to miss the mark. Despite the rich tapestry of iconic characters in the Star Wars universe, the game opted for generic original characters instead of the galaxy's legends, which might have been a misstep.

If you've uninstalled the game but want to take one last ride, you can still download it from the Google Play Store until the shutdown.
