Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Star Wars: Outlaws will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2, although it won't be a launch title for the new console. Scheduled for release on September 4, a few months after the Nintendo Switch 2's debut on June 5, fans will have to wait a bit longer to experience this space adventure on the new handheld.

Set in the timeline between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: Outlaws follows the journey of Kay Vess, a small-time criminal who becomes the target of a cartel's death mark. Our review scored it a 7, describing it as "a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, but it's hindered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch."

While Ubisoft kept details sparse, they did confirm the game's availability on the Nintendo Switch 2 and provided a release date. This news adds Star Wars: Outlaws to the Switch 2 Games List, offering a welcome update amid the ongoing pre-order uncertainties faced by American and Canadian gamers due to new tariffs introduced by the Republican administration.

The announcement came during a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where Ubisoft also unveiled the second story pack for Star Wars: Outlaws, titled A Pirate’s Fortune. This add-on will feature Kay Vess teaming up with Hondo Ohnaka to confront Stinger Tash, the leader of the Rokana Raiders. Star Wars: Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune is set to launch on May 15, adding more excitement to the game's universe.
