Star Wars Outlaws has just expanded its universe with the launch of the A Pirate’s Fortune DLC, now available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The driving force behind this new content? None other than the charming rogue, Hondo Ohnaka. Known from his appearances in the Darth Maul comics and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Hondo has captured the hearts of the development team at Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment.

Drew Rechner, the Creative Director, shared with IGN how the team's passion for Hondo fueled the creation of this DLC. "We always knew because there were so many passionate people on the team that we needed to feature Hondo. And, you know, that scoundrel fantasy of Kay mixing with the pirate fantasy of Hondo, it just kind of makes sense, right?" Rechner explained. The storyline delves into Kay's growth as a leader, with Hondo playing a pivotal role, possibly as a mentor, adding a rich layer to the narrative.

A Pirate’s Fortune introduces a thrilling new adventure involving the Rokana Raiders crime gang and the Miyuki Trade League, which provides upgrades for Kay's Trailblazer ship. Players can also enjoy a new blaster feature called Shock, enhancing the gameplay experience.

In other exciting news, Star Wars Outlaws is set to hit the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4. While Rechner kept details under wraps about new features for this platform, he hinted at forthcoming announcements. "In terms of a specific feature set, that's something that we will get into later. So we'll have more stuff to talk about later," he teased. Potential enhancements could include utilizing the Switch 2's innovative controllers as a mouse and integrating the new GameChat capability.
