Starfield Mod Adds Star Wars Lightsabers To The Game

Bethesda's Starfield receives a galactic upgrade thanks to a new Creation mod introducing Star Wars lightsabers. The recently released Starfield Creation Kit empowers players to share creative content, expanding the game with new features and cosmetic additions.

The influx of Star Wars mods has been significant, ranging from simple cosmetic items like Mandalorian armor and Clone Wars attire to more complex additions such as alien species, AT-ST enemies, and iconic blasters. A notable example is a mod recreating elements from the cancelled Star Wars 1313, even featuring Boba Fett.

Now, players can wield lightsabers with SomberKing's free Immersive Sabers mod. This Creation Club offering introduces three unique lightsabers – the Combatech Polaris, Old Earth Photonsaber, and the Arboron Novabeam Saber – complete with authentic sound effects, customizable beam colors, and workbench upgrades. A new perk enhances lightsaber deflection abilities. The mod also incorporates lightsabers into the game's loot system, allowing players to acquire them from defeated enemies. This clever integration grounds the iconic weapons within Starfield's established universe, despite their unique origins in Star Wars lore. Future updates promise three additional lightsabers from in-game manufacturers.

The release of Creation mod support and recent updates, including city maps and ship customization, have boosted player enthusiasm for Starfield. However, Bethesda's paid mod system remains a point of contention, particularly concerning the paywalled conclusion of the Trackers Alliance questline. Despite this, upcoming content like the Shattered Space expansion and a deeper exploration of the Va'ruun faction promise a bright future for Starfield players.
