You start with virtually no setup time and zero sanity, making you immediately susceptible to ghost hunts. Sanity cannot be restored, even with the provided Sanity Medications, so you must navigate the investigation under these perilous conditions. Despite the limited tools, the ghost remains highly active, providing frequent events that can aid in identifying its behavior. The ghost's favorite room remains constant, which can be a crucial clue.

Most doors start partially open, making it harder to pinpoint the ghost's location. However, the functional fuse box, which starts on, is a rare advantage. All nine hiding spots at 42 Edgefield Road are available, offering ample opportunities to seek safety during hunts.

You're equipped with the Monkey Paw as your only Cursed Possession. Using it to "wish for knowledge" can burn out incorrect evidences and ghost types in your Journal, aiding your guesswork. However, this wish comes at a high cost, blinding and deafening you and triggering a Cursed Hunt. This strategy is best for groups where one player can sacrifice themselves without jeopardizing the investigation.

How to Access Challenge Mode in Phasmophobia

To access Challenge Mode, navigate to the Difficulty Settings in the Main Menu. Choose Singleplayer or Multiplayer to start a new lobby, then select the Difficulty tab. Scroll to find Challenge Mode, select 'Apply,' and set it as your next investigation. Remember to manually select 42 Edgefield Road from the Maps board to the left, as Challenge Mode doesn't automatically choose the location. Completing the challenge three times at the designated location earns you the full $5,000 reward, requiring only correct ghost identification.

The Weekly Challenge resets every Monday at Midnight UTC, but North American players can start early on Sunday evening at these times:
