Prepare to confront Team Go Rocket as they invade Pokémon GO during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Starting on January 15th and continuing through the 19th, you'll have the opportunity to battle Giovanni and save Shadow Palkia. Additionally, you can obtain Shadow Ho-Oh from the Shadow Raid Day event on the 19th.

This Fashion Week also marks the debut of two new Pokémon: Shroodle and its evolution, Grafaiai. Shroodle can be hatched from 12 km Eggs. Team Go Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons, providing ample chances to use a Charged TM and remove the Frustration move from your Shadow Pokémon.

New Shadow Pokémon have been added, including Shadow Taillow, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Trubbish, and Bunnelby. With luck, some rescued Pokémon may even be Shiny. These Shadow Pokémon are available through various Shadow Raids. For the first time, you can use Remote Raid Passes to participate in these raids from a distance.

A Special Research task will guide you to obtain a Super Rocket Radar, leading to a showdown with Giovanni to rescue Shadow Palkia. The event also includes Field Research tasks that reward you with Mysterious Components, Charged TMs, and Fast TMs. Completing a special Collection Challenge grants Stardust and an encounter with Trubbish.

On Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, join the Ho-Oh Shadow Raid Day. This event provides additional Raid Passes and increases your odds of encountering a Shiny Ho-Oh. Ho-Oh caught during the event will know the powerful Charged Attack, Sacred Fire. An event ticket is available for $5, offering numerous bonus rewards.
