Texas Horror Classic to Haunt Screens in '24

Dec 10,24

Sumo Digital announces a crucial update for Texas Chain Saw Massacre, launching June 25th, 2024, across all platforms. This update tackles several key issues, primarily focusing on character skill trees and general gameplay improvements.

Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Sumo Digital's asymmetrical horror game inspired by the 1974 classic, pits the terrifying Slaughter family against their unsuspecting victims in thrilling 3v4 multiplayer matches. Set in 1973, the game follows Ana and her friends as they search for her missing sister, only to encounter the terrifying Leatherface and his family. The game has been praised for its faithful recreation of the film's chilling atmosphere.

This latest update introduces the Hitchhiker’s Claymore outfit, a purchasable cosmetic item for $2.99 USD, adding a fresh visual element to the game. Beyond cosmetics, significant bug fixes and gameplay adjustments are included.

The update directly addresses issues with the skill trees of several characters:

  • Cook: A fix for the middle path in his skill tree now allows players to reach level 10, achieved by adding more attribute point nodes to reach the required 50/50 threshold.
  • Julie: Similar to Cook, the left path in Julie's skill tree has been adjusted to allow progression to level 10 through the addition of attribute point nodes.
  • Hands: A major exploit related to Hands' stamina, where his middle ability tree path incorrectly affected overall stamina, has been resolved. His "Reduce Defensive Barge Stamina Cost" ability upgrades now function correctly at all tiers.

Further improvements include:

  • Lobby Cooldown: The lobby cooldown penalty system has been refined for a smoother matchmaking experience.
  • UI Fixes: A UI bug incorrectly displaying removed perks in character customization has been corrected.
  • Visual Fixes: Issues with Maria's hair textures and model visibility have been addressed.
  • Skill Tree Connections: Incorrect connection lines between attribute nodes in skill trees have been fixed.
  • Hands' "Rip Stalled" Perk: This perk now correctly applies the cooldown duration to generators and car batteries.
