The popular digital board game, Ticket to Ride, is expanding its railway empire with the new Switzerland expansion. This exciting addition introduces country-to-country and city-to-country routes, opening up a whole new strategic landscape for players. Now you can connect Switzerland with its neighboring countries, creating diverse and challenging railroad networks.

This holiday season update also includes two new characters and four new train tokens, adding extra depth and replayability. Developer Marmalade Games created this expansion as a gift to fans, offering not just new locations, but also fresh gameplay mechanics. The new route types demand careful strategic planning, making the game engaging for both seasoned players and newcomers.

Country-to-country tickets challenge players to link specific countries, offering multiple connection choices and varying point values. For example, connecting France could lead to Germany, Italy, or Austria, each rewarding a different number of points upon completion. Similarly, city-to-country tickets require linking a city to a designated country. Each country has a limited number of connection points, adding a layer of urgency to strategic decision-making.

Successful route completions award points based on the ticket's highest possible score, while failed connections result in point deductions based on the ticket's lowest value.
