"Tsukuyomi: Divine Hunter - New Roguelike from Shin Megami Tensei Creator"
Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter, a captivating new roguelike card battler, has made its global debut on Android devices. Designed by the legendary Kazuma Kaneko, renowned for his surreal world-building and iconic demon designs in the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series, this game marks a bold step into uncharted territory. The Japanese studio COLOPL, under Kaneko’s leadership since 2023, brings this project to life, blending his signature style with innovative gameplay mechanics.
A Game Powered by Personalized AI
At the heart of Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter lies an extraordinary feature—a personal AI system named Okami. Trained by Kaneko himself, the AI Kaneko model powers the Okami System, which observes your gameplay and adapts in real-time. As you explore dungeons and make decisions, Okami generates entirely new cards tailored to your unique playstyle. This dynamic system ensures every session feels fresh and unpredictable.
Set Against a Haunting Backdrop
The game unfolds within The Hashira, a towering structure located in Tokyo’s bayside area. Once a symbol of modernity, the building now stands abandoned, overrun by monstrous entities. Players assume the role of Tsukuyomi, an elite operative tasked with ascending the tower to confront Noriko Tomi, the former president of the construction company responsible for The Hashira. Her ambitions involve using jujutsu traps hidden throughout the building to overthrow the government.
Meet the Cast of Characters
Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter introduces two initial characters, each with distinct abilities and playstyles. Izayoi Tsukuyomi adopts a straightforward approach, enhancing attack and defense through upgraded cards. Some notable Jinma cards available when playing as Izayoi include Seiryu, Finn MacCool, Mormo, and Watanabe Tsuna.
On the other hand, Shingetsu Tsukuyomi specializes in chaining attacks, enabling more intricate strategies. Shingetsu’s Jinma cards consist of Mach, Kirin, Kato Danzou, and Suzuka Gozen. Two additional characters, Mangetsu and Hangetsu, will be added via future updates.
