Ubisoft Confirms More “Driver” Projects After Cancelation of Show Adaptation

Ubisoft has officially confirmed with Game File the cancellation of the live-action adaptation of its Driver racing game franchise. Initially announced in 2021 for exclusive streaming on Binge.com, Ubisoft Film & Television head Danielle Kreinik stated the goal was "to bring our games to life in new and exciting ways and create content set in the world, culture, and community of gaming."

The collaboration ended due to the January closure of Hotrod Tanner LLC, a movie-related subsidiary named after the Driver protagonist. A Ubisoft spokesperson stated to Game File, "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series."

However, Ubisoft assures fans that it is "actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise" and looks forward to future announcements. Specific details remain undisclosed, so stay tuned for further Driver news.
