Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a glimmer of good news on the horizon. One persistent issue that has been a thorn in the side of gamers has finally been addressed.

Ubisoft has successfully resolved the compatibility issues plaguing several Assassin's Creed titles following the 24H2 update for Windows 11. Since the fall of 2024, games such as Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, among others, have been experiencing significant performance issues on the new operating system. The solution came in the form of new patches, which were recently announced on the Steam pages for both Origins and Valhalla.

The gaming community's response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many players expressing their gratitude in the comments section of the patch notes. Interestingly, there's been a notable absence of criticism towards Ubisoft this time around, as the community recognizes that the root of the problem lay with the Windows update rather than the game developer itself. Despite this, the recent reviews for both games still hover at "Mixed."

Looking forward, there's optimism surrounding the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Originally slated for an earlier launch, the game's release has been pushed back to March 20. Ubisoft's decision to delay aims to enhance the game's quality, a move that's critical as the success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows could very well shape the future trajectory of the company.
