EA Sports UFC 5 Receives January 9th Update: New Fighter and Bug Fixes

EA Vancouver has dropped a new update for EA Sports UFC 5, launching January 9th at 1 PM ET on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Patch 1.18 introduces undefeated fighter Azamat Murzakanov and addresses various bugs.

Following October 2023's launch and initial roster criticism, EA Vancouver continues to expand EA Sports UFC 5's fighter roster. The game now boasts 98% parity with the current UFC top ten rankings, a testament to ongoing content updates.

This update adds Azamat Murzakanov to the Light Heavyweight division. Murzakanov arrives with impressive stats: a 97 power punch rating, 95 accuracy, and 94 ground striking. Additionally, three new alter egos are included, though their identities remain undisclosed.

Beyond the new fighter and alter egos, Patch 1.18 includes minor bug fixes and a gameplay adjustment: the stamina cost of the muscle modifier is reduced from x3.125 to 2.5. Fixes include corrected translations for several languages and a resolution to a Stand and Bang Ranked match result display issue. Updated portraits for Stipe and Jones from UFC 309 also feature.

This update coincides with EA Sports UFC 5's arrival on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play, starting January 14th. This adds to the existing January Game Pass additions, including Road 96, Lightyear Frontier, and My Time at Sandrock (available on the standard tier).
