Below, we've highlighted key tips that we wish we knew when we first started playing. Implementing these strategies can significantly enhance your gameplay and accelerate your progress.

The object of the game is to survive…

When you're dropped into your world and onto your plot of land, you might think the goal is to protect it. However, the true objective is to survive, or simply put, not to die. The game will present you with various dangers, and your task is to outlast them. Ideally, you should fortify your plot with a defensive structure, but you can also choose to roam the world until the threat subsides (a strategy that works surprisingly well). Each time you survive, you earn a "Win" and some in-game currency, which is key to progressing in the game. Keep an eye on screen messages and focus on staying alive.

… dying is completely normal

Don't worry if you meet an untimely demise; it's a common occurrence in Build Defense. The consequences are minimal: you'll respawn immediately, lose your current items, and fail the ongoing enemy wave, but these setbacks are manageable. You can repurchase your weapons and items, and your structures remain intact against monster attacks and disasters. Another wave of enemies will come every two minutes, giving you plenty of chances to succeed. Essentially, you're only losing a bit of time, which isn't a big deal.

Build high, not low

Initially, you might think that constructing a wall around your plot is a good defense strategy, but it's not very effective due to the need for entry and exit points, which monsters can exploit. A more successful approach is to build a tall set of stairs leading to a high platform. During night-time threats, you can ascend to this safe haven. The steep stairs will cause many monsters to fall, and those that reach the top can be met with a barrage of turrets. This setup should help you weather most nights with ease.

Don’t just build, explore!

There's much more to do on the island than just working on your plot. You can visit other players, trade ores, and embark on quests. Most quests require a certain number of Wins to unlock, but some, like the Gingerbread's House quest, are available right from the start. Completing these quests not only adds variety to your gameplay but also unlocks new building parts.

The “Shop” isn’t just for premium items

As you advance in the game, don't overlook the Shop. Most items there can be purchased with in-game currency, but you'll need to accumulate some Wins first. So, play the game for a while before diving into the Shop. Also, don't forget to join the Swiftplay Roblox group, and like, favorite, and follow the game for a free gift.

When you’re ready, move to the next area

Once you've earned 190 Wins, you can transition to the next area, where you'll face new challenges, quests, and building opportunities.
