Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers three distinct campaigns, each featuring a challenging true ending. This guide details how to unlock the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction.

First, complete the Shu campaign. This unlocks replayability of past stages. You'll notice a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban," signifying an alternate ending. Traditionally, this stage involves escorting Liu Bei while Zhang Fei defends the bridge. However, to unlock the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao instead of simply ensuring Liu Bei's escape.

This is a significant challenge, a true "1 vs. 1000" scenario. Liu Bei's defeat before Cao Cao's will necessitate a restart. To improve your odds:

Reduce Difficulty: Set the game to Historian mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this crucial, especially at lower levels.
Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei. This places you closer to Cao Cao's forces, minimizing travel time.

Prepare for Cao Cao's Grand Tactics: two waves requiring officer eliminations and a significant soldier count (250). A weapon like twin pikes is highly recommended for efficient soldier clearing. Once his army is routed, defeating Cao Cao should be manageable. After this, only a few more missions remain before the true Shu ending is revealed.
