Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual showcase event, kicking off the year's gaming announcements. The event will stream on YouTube and Twitch at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT, following previous rumors of a January announcement.

Confirmed Games and Highlights:

The showcase will feature a trio of anticipated titles:

• Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
• Doom: The Dark Ages: id Software's latest entry in the Doom franchise, initially revealed in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is currently speculated.
• South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), initially announced in June 2023. A release date is expected.

While these three games are confirmed, past Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and included multiple game reveals. Expect potential surprises beyond these confirmed titles, similar to the 2024 showcase which featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana.
