  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are reportedly being developed for the PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
  • These multi-platform releases are expected to launch in 2025.
  • Industry insiders suggest that many more first-party Xbox games will become available on other platforms in 2025.

According to recent reports from trusted industry insider NateTheHate, Halo: The Master Chief Collection might soon make its way to the PS5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The insider shared this information during the January 10 episode of his podcast, indicating that the six-game bundle could be released on these new platforms in 2025.

In a similar vein, NateTheHate also mentioned that the Microsoft Flight Simulator series is likely to go multi-platform. Although he did not specify which version, it is reasonable to assume he meant Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which was released on November 19. This game is also expected to be available on PS5 and Switch 2 sometime in 2025.

Microsoft's strategy to bring its first-party titles to third-party consoles began in February 2024, starting with Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves. Additionally, As Dusk Falls, originally published by Xbox Game Studios, was considered part of this initiative after being an Xbox exclusive for 20 months. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 joined the list of multi-platform titles in October 2024, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle set to follow on the PS5 in spring 2025.

The move towards multi-platform releases is further supported by Jez Corden, another well-known Microsoft leaker, who recently tweeted that "way more" Xbox games will be coming to the PS5 and Switch 2. Corden has consistently stated that the era of Xbox console exclusives is coming to an end.

Another franchise expected to expand its reach is Call of Duty. As part of Microsoft's efforts to finalize the Activision Blizzard acquisition, a deal was signed to bring Call of Duty games to Nintendo platforms for ten years, announced in late 2022. While no Switch games have been released yet, it's speculated that Microsoft is waiting for the more powerful Switch 2 to hit the market, which would be better equipped to handle modern, realistic military shooters.
