Nintendo has officially confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will indeed support cloud saves, much to the relief of fans. Previously, there was uncertainty surrounding this feature after a disclaimer on Nintendo's website suggested otherwise. Initially, the page for Tears of the Kingdom's Switch 2 edition stated: "Please note: this software does not support the Nintendo Switch Online paid membership’s Save Data Cloud backup feature."

However, Nintendo has since updated its website, providing clarity on the matter. While the page for Donkey Kong Bananza has removed any mention of cloud saves, the disclaimer for Tears of the Kingdom has been revised to read: "Save data created in the second save data slot in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cannot be transferred to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch."

It indicates that players will be able to transfer their saves from the original Switch version of Tears of the Kingdom to the Switch 2, but transferring saves from the Switch 2 back to the original Switch will not be possible, as reported by Eurogamer.

Similarly, the page for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has been updated with the same message, indicating a consistent approach to save data transfers across these titles.

In other news, pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 went live overnight, maintaining the price at $449.99. The response has been as enthusiastic as expected. For more details, you can refer to IGN's Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order guide.
