Сheaters in Black Ops 6 kick players, Activision made false claims about fixing the issue

A video surfaced online in late January showcasing a tool allowing hackers to remove players from Black Ops 6 matches. Activision responded, stating the video was from the Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta and that the vulnerability was patched before the game's November release. They asserted the video doesn't reflect the game's current state and that they investigate all such reports.

However, players dispute Activision's claim, citing recent videos demonstrating the tool's use in matches, including one on the Nuketown map—added a week after the game's launch.

Despite this controversy, Black Ops 6 achieved top-selling game status in the US last year, according to Circana analysts, continuing the Call of Duty franchise's 16-year reign at the top of the US gaming market. In contrast, EA Sports College Football 25, released in July, claimed the title of most played sports game in the US.

While overall US gamer spending dipped 1.1% year-over-year in 2024, Circana attributes this to reduced hardware demand, noting a 2% rise in add-on spending and a 6% increase in service spending. The second season of Black Ops 6 and Warzone 2, featuring a ninja theme and a Terminator crossover, launched January 28th.
