Tingklik Bali Virtual
The tingklik is a traditional Balinese musical instrument.
Crafted from bamboo, the tingklik resembles a set of blades. It's played by striking these bamboo blades with a paddle, also known as a tingklik pelvis. A tingklik gamelan ensemble typically features two tingkliks: the tingklik polos and the tingklik sangsih. A single tingklik instrument can have anywhere from eleven to twenty-five bamboo blades, the exact number depending on the musical scale being used. Players utilize both hands; the right hand often plays the melody (kotekan), while the left hand provides the rhythm (bun). Occasionally, the right hand might play the sangsih part, and the left hand the polos.
