Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World has exceeded expectations with a projected $100 million domestic box office opening over the Presidents Day weekend. Comscore reports an estimated $88.5 million from 4,105 theaters over the three-day weekend, projecting a four-day total of $100 million. Adding the $92.4 million in international revenue, the film's global weekend total is estimated at $192.4 million.

Deadline reports a production budget of $180 million, with a break-even point estimated at $425 million globally. This strong opening places Captain America: Brave New World as the fourth-best Presidents Day launch ever, trailing only Black Panther ($242 million), Deadpool ($152 million), and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($120 million).

Despite mixed critical reception—IGN awarded it a 5/10, noting it "feels neither brave, nor all that new"—the film's box office success is noteworthy. The performance will be closely watched to see if it can reverse a recent downward trend for MCU films (excluding last year's successful Deadpool & Wolverine), setting the stage for Thunderbolts in May and The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July.
