"Crunchyroll Expands Library with Shogun Showdown, a Roguelike Combat Deckbuilder"

May 29,25

Shogun Showdown, a fresh roguelike combat deckbuilder, recently joined the Crunchyroll Game Vault, initially launching for PC and consoles in September 2024. Developed by Roboatino and published by Goblinz Studio and Gamera Games (for additional platforms), the game quickly gained popularity thanks to its innovative approach to turn-based combat.

What Sets Crunchyroll: Shogun Showdown Apart?

In Shogun Showdown, every decision counts as you navigate a single-lane battlefield fraught with danger. Playing as a samurai on a quest to defeat a corrupt shogun who has plunged the world into chaos, you face challenges across a linear path ranging from 4 to 12 spaces. Managing queued actions, positioning, and avoiding enemy ambushes becomes crucial.

With only three actions available at any given moment, each move carries weight. The procedurally generated levels ensure no two runs are alike, introducing varied obstacles, foes, and layouts. Its pixel art, inspired by feudal Japan, adds charm and authenticity to the experience.
