Hideo Kojima took the stage at SXSW 2025 in Austin, TX, to unveil an exciting new trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and confirm its release date.

Death Stranding 2 is set to launch on June 26, 2025, exclusively for PlayStation 5. However, fans who opt for the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Collector’s Edition will enjoy two days of early access, starting on June 24.

The captivating 10-minute trailer showcases a mix of cinematics and gameplay, featuring a character that strikingly resembles Snake from Kojima's renowned Metal Gear series. This character, named Neil and portrayed by Italian actor Luca Marinelli, sports a bandana akin to Snake's and leads a squad of eerie soldiers while wielding an assault rifle.

The trailer also introduces the Magellan Man, a massive tar-like creature reminiscent of Metal Gear Rex from the Metal Gear series. The Magellan Man, which can be operated like a Pacific Rim-style mech, battles enormous tar monsters. A 15" statue of the Magellan Man is included in the Collector's Edition.
