He further noted that development is more advanced than publicly perceived, though specifics remain undisclosed. While this news may disappoint fans, it's a more positive outlook than previous speculation pointing towards a 2027 release.

This year's June trailer highlighted intense gun battles against zombies and showcased post-apocalyptic vehicles reminiscent of the Mad Max series. The game's narrative unfolds years after the apocalypse, focusing on human survivors establishing and defending settlements against the undead threat.

State of Decay 3 is in development for PC and Xbox Series X|S consoles, with its predecessor launching in 2018.
