The developer behind Dune: Awakening has exciting news for fans eagerly awaiting the game's release. Set to launch fully on May 20 without an early access phase or monthly subscription, Dune: Awakening promises to deliver an immersive gaming experience rooted in the iconic world of the 1965 science fiction novel by Frank Herbert.

No Early Access and No Monthly Subscription

Dune: Awakening's developer, Funcom, has made it clear through their latest Steam blog post dated March 21 that the game will not follow the traditional early access model. Instead, players can look forward to a complete release on the scheduled date. This approach sets Dune: Awakening apart from other MMOs like Final Fantasy XIV, World of Warcraft, and EVE Online, which rely on monthly subscriptions. Funcom assures fans that the game will be supported with free updates, new content, features, and enhancements post-launch, leveraging their extensive experience with live service games such as Anarchy Online and Conan Exiles.

Pre-Orders Live Now and Game Editions Revealed

Following the announcement, Dune: Awakening opened pre-orders on March 24, offering three distinct editions: Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate. Each edition comes with its own set of benefits. Pre-ordering any edition grants players two exclusive in-game items: the Terrarium of Muad'Dib, a beautifully crafted in-base decoration, and the Sunset Dye Global Swatch, a unique color pattern applicable to weapons, vehicles, and armor.

For those opting for the Deluxe or Ultimate editions, there's an added perk: a 5-day head start, allowing access to the game from May 15. The Deluxe edition includes:
