Jason Kingsley, the CEO of Rebellion, has expressed a fondness for the Evil Genius franchise, hinting at the potential for a third installment, though he's keeping official announcements under wraps for now. The series is close to his heart, and he's currently pondering innovative ways to elevate it to new heights.

Kingsley suggests that the theme of world domination, central to Evil Genius, could extend beyond the traditional base-building simulation genre into other strategic game formats. Although specific projects are still in the conceptual stage, the team at Rebellion is buzzing with creative ideas for the franchise's future.

Evil Genius 2, which hit the market in 2021, garnered "mostly positive" reviews from critics on Metacritic. However, the reception among regular players was less enthusiastic. Despite enhancements in graphics and efforts to correct previous flaws, the sequel didn't meet the expectations set by its predecessor. Players voiced their disappointment over issues like the global map, the decline in minion quality, and various structural elements, indicating that Evil Genius 2 fell short in several key areas compared to the original game.
