Hollywood Eyes Split for Film Adaptation

Nov 12,25

According to a report from Variety, Split Fiction is headed for a film adaptation, with a package deal being assembled after the movie rights attracted interest from several major Hollywood studios.

Sources told Variety that Story Kitchen, a production company specializing in adapting video games and other non-traditional media for film and TV, is putting together the creative team—including writers, a director, and key cast members—as a complete package. The same company is behind the upcoming film adaptation of Hazelight Studios' earlier title, It Takes Two. Among Story Kitchen’s other projects (previously known as dj2 Entertainment) are the Sonic the Hedgehog movies and Netflix’s Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.

This is more promising news for Split Fiction; earlier this month it was confirmed that the acclaimed cooperative action-adventure game sold over two million copies in its first week.

In its review, IGN described Split Fiction as an essential co-op adventure that remains fresh throughout its entire 14-hour runtime.

Earlier this week, Hazelight director Josef Fares confirmed the studio is already developing its next game.
