Iansan: The New Bennett Replacement in Genshin Impact?

Apr 18,25

Bennett remains a pivotal and highly beneficial character in *Genshin Impact*, renowned for his utility since the game's inception. He continues to be a staple in numerous team compositions due to his versatile support abilities. With the introduction of Iansan in *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, set to launch on March 26, there's speculation about whether she might serve as a replacement for Bennett. Let's delve into a detailed comparison to see if Iansan can indeed take Bennett's place.

How Does Iansan's Kit Compare to Bennett's in Genshin Impact?

Iansan, a new 4-Star Electro Polearm character from Natlan, is designed primarily as a support character, much like Bennett. Her Elemental Burst, "The Three Principles of Power," functions similarly to Bennett's by buffing other characters. However, Iansan's approach differs; instead of a static field, she summons a Kinetic Energy Scale that follows the active character, enhancing ATK based on her Nightsoul Points. If Iansan's Nightsoul Points are below 42 out of a maximum of 54, the ATK bonus scales with both her Nightsoul Points and ATK. At 42 or more Nightsoul Points, the bonus scales solely off her ATK, necessitating an ATK-focused build.

A unique aspect of Iansan's Kinetic Scale is that it requires the active character to move to restore Nightsoul Points, based on the distance traveled. This introduces a dynamic element to her support style. While both characters offer healing, Bennett's healing is significantly more effective, restoring up to 70% HP, whereas Iansan's healing is less potent and she cannot heal herself.

Another key difference is elemental infusion. At C6, Bennett can infuse Pyro into the Normal Attacks of the active character, a feature Iansan does not possess with Electro. This can be a critical factor depending on your team's composition.

In terms of exploration, Iansan offers unique advantages. She can use Nightsoul Points to sprint and jump longer distances without stamina, enhancing mobility. However, for Pyro teams, Bennett's Elemental Resonance provides a significant +25% ATK buff and Pyro infusion, making him the preferred choice.

Bennett raises his fist triumphantly.

Should You Choose Iansan or Bennett in Genshin Impact?

While Iansan shares many similarities with Bennett, she is not a direct replacement but rather a strong alternative, particularly suited for secondary teams in Spiral Abyss that need a similar support role. Iansan's Kinetic Scale eliminates the need for the "Circle Impact" strategy, where players must stay within Bennett's static field for buffs. Instead, Iansan encourages active movement, offering a fresh gameplay dynamic.

If you're interested in trying out Iansan, you can do so during Phase I of *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, which launches on March 26.
