LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship and New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

May 20,25

LEGO has unveiled an exciting lineup of nine new Star Wars sets, all set to launch on May 1, 2025, in celebration of Star Wars Day on May the 4th. LEGO traditionally marks this occasion with a new addition to their Ultimate Collector Series Starship. Following the releases of Luke's X-Wing Starfighter in 2023 and the TIE Interceptor in 2024, this year's highlight is Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, famously known as Slave I. However, the name was changed in 2021 at Disney's request (confirmed by LEGO) to avoid any association with 'slave' imagery, and the new name is here to stay.

The last substantial version of this LEGO starship was released in 2019, celebrating the 20th anniversary with a 1007-piece set, which showcased the ship from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The upcoming 2025 version, boasting 2970 pieces, will depict the ship as seen in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. This new iteration is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, measuring an impressive 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
