High on Life 2 has been unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, with a release scheduled for this winter on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S—including availability on Game Pass.

This follow-up to Squanch Games' irreverent shooter sees the developer return to its signature cartoon-style first-person action.

The original High on Life arrived in 2022 to a mix of critical reception, alongside controversy surrounding Justin Roiland's involvement. Nonetheless, it performed strongly on Xbox Game Pass, and last year, reports indicated an animated series based on the game was in development.

High on Life 2 continues the story after you successfully dismantled the galaxy's rogue cartel. However, peace is short-lived.

"When a mysterious figure from your past returns and places a bounty on your sister, your comfortable life is thrown into disarray," the game's description states. "Do you have what it takes to risk everything and unravel an intergalactic conspiracy that once again endangers your favorite species—humanity?"

Today's announcement also highlights an "all-star comedy cast," with further details expected soon. For more updates, explore all the announcements from the June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase.
