Hashino, when discussing future projects, expressed a strong interest in developing a game set during Japan's Sengoku period. He envisions this historical setting as ideal for a new Japanese role-playing game (JRPG), potentially drawing inspiration from the Basara series.

Regarding Metaphor: ReFantazio, Hashino confirmed there are no immediate plans for a sequel. While the game was initially conceived as a potential third major JRPG franchise alongside Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, the current focus is on completing the initial release. He aims for Metaphor: ReFantazio to become a flagship Atlus title.

Although a direct sequel is unlikely, the team is already working on their next project. However, an anime adaptation is being considered. Metaphor: ReFantazio has already achieved significant success for Atlus, boasting a peak concurrent player count exceeding 85,961. This surpasses the concurrent player counts of Persona 5 Royal (35,474) and Persona 3 Reload (45,002). The game is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
