Though Konami hasn't officially addressed whether the contentious content remains, the ESRB has assigned the stealth-action remake an M (Mature 17+) rating for intense gunplay, pained screams, gory combat scenes, and "suggestive/sexual material."

Beyond cataloging realistic violence, the ESRB notes: "Cutscenes feature additional brutal moments: a bound captive tortured via beating and electrocution; a character fatally shot through the eye; a flaming combatant riddled with bullets.

"The game contains sexualized scenarios: a man forcibly touching a woman's chest; lingering camera focus on exposed cleavage; a brief scene of crotch grabbing; plus the Peep Demo Theater's first-person voyeuristic cutscenes featuring a semi-nude female character."

Originally an unlockable bonus in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence and HD Edition, this theater mode let players manipulate camera angles during Eva's underwear-clad scene - accessible only after four playthroughs.
