MindsEye is set to launch on June 10, meaning copies surfaced a week ahead of schedule. Build A Rocket Boy responded via social media, asking players to avoid sharing spoilers and confirming a significant day-one update to enhance the game experience.

This “major” update for physical copies, according to Build A Rocket Boy, includes “critical enhancements to ensure MindsEye delivers the intended experience and showcases characters at their finest.”

Regarding spoilers, the studio emphasized that MindsEye revolves around “narrative twists and emotional depth.”

“We want players to discover the story simultaneously on launch day, unspoiled,” the studio stated. “This means waiting for the official release to dive into the game.”

MindsEye’s early leaks and negative feedback add to ongoing challenges for Build A Rocket Boy during the game’s development.

Last week, co-CEO Mark Gerhard alleged a “coordinated effort” to undermine the game and studio, claiming some negative comments stemmed from paid efforts or spam bots. Gerhard, who joined Build A Rocket Boy alongside former Rockstar North leader Leslie Benzies last year, made these remarks on the official MindsEye Discord, surprising many fans.

Days before the launch, the studio’s Chief Legal Officer and Chief Financial Officer announced their departures, raising concerns within the MindsEye community.

MindsEye launches on June 10, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It blends elements of Grand Theft Auto, Watch Dogs, Cyberpunk, and a user-generated content feature dubbed “AAA Minecraft.”

Priced at $59.99, MindsEye offers a “focused linear story campaign” and “single-player free roam” at launch, alongside missions like the horde mode “Destruction Site Shootout,” combat missions “Honor Amongst Thieves” and “Friendly Fire,” six races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races. The premium pass includes an additional horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics pack.

Post-launch, Build A Rocket Boy plans to roll out “continuous” premium content monthly, including new missions, challenges, and assets. “Combining studio-crafted updates with top-tier community creations, MindsEye will evolve and captivate players for years,” the studio said.

The 2025 roadmap includes community updates and new missions in summer, new single-player and multiplayer modes plus missions in fall, and free roam updates with additional missions in winter. Premium pass holders will receive extra missions and packs throughout the year.
