Capcom has announced an extension to the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that disrupted the previous test session. The PSN experienced an "operational issue" starting at around 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until approximately 24 hours later. In response to the outage, Sony compensated all PlayStation Plus members with an additional five days of service.

During the downtime, PlayStation users were unable to access online games, and even some single-player titles that required server authentication or a constant internet connection were affected. The second beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, which was scheduled to run from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9, was among the games impacted by the outage.

In response, Capcom has extended the next session of the Monster Hunter Wilds beta by 24 hours. The new session will now start on Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT / 3am GMT on February 14 and will run until Monday, February 17 at 6:59 pm PT / 2:59 am GMT on February 18. Players participating in the extended beta will still be eligible to receive the participation bonuses that will be available in the full version of the game.

Despite the disruption, players were able to engage with the game's challenging new monster, Arkveld, during the previous beta session.
