My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision

The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, wasn't initially a game designer. In 2020, he was establishing himself as a writer and filmmaker. A college friend suggested a collaborative game project, but the team disbanded, leaving the idea unrealized.

Undeterred, Alameen pursued the story independently. He self-taught 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, ultimately realizing his vision. Even the game's title resulted from a collaborative brainstorming session with his wife.

Unraveling the Mystery

The game plunges players into a mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, brimming with secrets, puzzles, and unexpected twists.

Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: What happened to her father? The answer, as the narrative unfolds, proves far from straightforward.

Drawing inspiration from 7000 years of Mesopotamian culture, My Father Lied blends ancient lore with modern storytelling. The puzzles are user-friendly, employing a simple point-and-click interface with beautiful 2D visuals and 360-degree imagery.

Android Release Date

My Father Lied launches on PC on May 30th, 2025. Android and iOS versions are slated for release in Q3 2025. For more information, visit the official Kickstarter or Steam pages.
