Mar 21,25

After months of speculation and leaks, Pokémon Champions has finally been revealed! This brand-new multiplayer battle-focused Pokémon game is a collaborative effort between Game Freak and The Pokémon Works, a recent joint venture between The Pokémon Company and ILCA (the developers behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl).

Pokémon Champions puts the spotlight squarely on Pokémon battles, utilizing the series' classic battle system. Players can engage in online battles against each other, showcasing their strategic prowess. The trailer confirmed the inclusion of both Mega Evolution and Terastalization, hinting at a diverse roster spanning various Pokémon generations and types.

PlayExcitingly, Pokémon Champions will integrate with Pokémon Home, enabling players to transfer Pokémon from other games into the fray. This long-awaited feature finally gives players a compelling reason to utilize their vast collections of Pokémon from past generations.

Currently in development for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, Pokémon Champions lacks a concrete release date. However, it's confirmed that Latin American Spanish will be among the languages supported at launch, in addition to other languages commonly featured in Pokémon games.

Interestingly, Pokémon Champions appears to be the game previously leaked last year as "Pokémon Synapse," part of the extensive "Freak Leak" that revealed a wealth of internal Game Freak information. While initial details were scarce, suggesting a multiplayer game possibly similar to Splatoon, the official reveal clarifies its core focus on competitive Pokémon battles.
