Psyduck is taking center stage in the latest Pokémon GO event. Its appearance celebrates the return of the animated series Pokémon Concierge on Netflix. The show’s second season launched on September 4th, continuing to follow Haru’s journey at the resort.

Pokémon GO Teaches Psyduck About Water Safety

Recently, Psyduck was seen wandering around Brazil. In Pokémon GO, you can encounter it as part of the Pokémon Concierge Celebration Event. The event runs from September 9th at 10:00 AM to September 14th, 2025, at 8:00 PM.

While no new Pokémon are being introduced this time, Psyduck is in the spotlight with its first-ever costume variant. This special version sports a swim ring, appears in the wild, and has a chance to be Shiny. Along with Psyduck, Sealeo will also appear in the wild, while Shinx will be a less common encounter.

A few bonuses are active throughout the event. You’ll earn double XP for catching Pokémon, buddies will bring you items more often, and the Shiny rate for Psyduck with a swim ring is increased. The Shiny variant also features a unique event-exclusive background.

What Other Activities Can You Expect?

GO Snapshots also offer the chance to be photobombed by Pokémon or characters from Pokémon Concierge. Additionally, completing Field Research tasks will reward you with encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Be sure to download Pokémon GO from the Google Play Store before the event starts.

I’m really looking forward to the second season of Pokémon Concierge. The series originated from discussions between The Pokémon Company and Netflix back in 2019. The first season of this stop-motion Japanese ONA series was released in December 2023.

Thanks to its heartfelt storytelling and calm, relaxing vibe, the show quickly became a fan favorite. It centers on Haru, a woman who takes a job as a concierge at the Pokémon Resort, where she learns and grows by interacting with the visiting Pokémon. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend checking it out.
