Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge debuts with ultra-slim design

Sep 30,25

Samsung unveiled its flagship Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone during the May Unpacked event, introducing a sleek redesign that gives it a competitive edge over standard models. While sharing much of its technology with the earlier Galaxy S25, this new iteration boasts a significantly thinner profile.

Premium Specifications

The Galaxy S25 Edge maintains nearly identical hardware to its Ultra counterpart, including the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and impressive 200MP camera system. The most noticeable upgrade comes in its dramatically reduced thickness - measuring just 5.8mm compared to the Ultra's 8.2mm frame. This slimming treatment also shaves off weight, with the device now tipping the scales at a featherlight 163 grams.

Display & Durability

Despite its compact dimensions, the phone retains the premium 6.7-inch AMOLED 2X display from the standard S25. Durability concerns prompted Samsung to incorporate Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 technology - touted as stronger than the Ultra's Gorilla Glass Armor 2. The real test, however, will be the phone's resilience against everyday pocket pressures.

AI Capabilities

The S25 Edge inherits Samsung's acclaimed "Mobile AI" system, enhanced since its debut on the S24 series. The Snapdragon chip enables substantial on-device AI processing for improved privacy, though cloud-dependent applications remain prevalent. Notable features include intelligent notification summaries and news article condensation.

Availability

Preorders are now open with pricing starting at $1,099 for the 256GB model. Consumers can choose between three sophisticated titanium color options: Silver, Jet Black, and Icyblue.

Samsung insists this slender device maintains rugged durability - a claim that consumers will undoubtedly put to the test.
