Stalker 2: Guide to 'For Science!' Side Mission

Embark on a scientific side quest in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl! This guide details how to initiate and complete the "For Science!" mission, unlocking access to the STC Malachite facility.

Initiating "For Science!"

The "For Science!" quest begins at the Central Elevator in the Chemical Plant. Yaryk Mongoose will contact Skif via radio, prompting a meeting. Locate Mongoose on the first floor (easily accessed by vaulting a railing). He'll explain the need to activate a second measuring device atop a nearby silo, initiating the quest.

Reaching the Silo's Summit

Ascend the building's stairs, dispatching any rodents encountered. Climb out a broken window and use the external ladder and walkways to reach the silos. Be prepared for electro anomalies; equipping a bolt-action weapon is advised. Activate the second measuring device. This will attract a pack of Bloodsuckers.

Confronting Mongoose

Return to Mongoose. He'll explain the unforeseen consequences of the experiment. You can choose to kill him or accept his reward (a Malachite pass and coupons). Neither choice significantly impacts the game's progression. However, choosing the peaceful option is recommended to receive the full reward. The Malachite pass grants access to the STC Malachite base, assuming you haven't already gained access through the main storyline.
