Star Wars: KOTOR Remake Reportedly Canceled

The project was announced in September 2021, but updates have been scarce, with only rumors hinting at its status. Now, it appears fans may face disappointing news instead of the anticipated release. Alex Smith, former head of Bend Studio and a key figure behind the Syphon Filter series, shared this insight.

On his X account, Smith stated that development on SW: KOTOR Remake has been fully stopped, despite Saber Interactive’s 2024 claim that work was continuing. He noted that some staff were reassigned to other projects, while others were laid off. If true, this could be a devastating blow for fans hoping for a revival of the beloved RPG.

Smith’s track record includes accurate leaks, such as predicting Housemarque’s new game announcement, which proved correct. However, his forecasts for Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei release dates missed the mark, suggesting his claims should be approached cautiously.

Neither Saber Interactive nor Aspyr has officially addressed these reports, leaving the project’s future uncertain for fans.
