Subway Surfers marks its 13th anniversary this month with special celebrations worldwide. SYBO Games has organized an exciting globe-trotting marathon event launching May 12th.

The Journey Returns to Its Origins!

Starting in Copenhagen, Subway Surfers' anniversary update introduces fresh content in its original setting before unveiling daily city challenges.

Runners can unlock access to 21 global destinations including Paris, Rio, Tokyo, London, Los Angeles, and Hawaii. Progress requires collecting World Tour suitcase tokens in each location.

This update commemorates the game's 200th World Tour destination. Since 2013, Subway Surfers has featured rotating global locations - currently spotlighting Osaka during Golden Week celebrations.

The Osaka update shines with neon-lit streets blending traditional elements. New characters Saru (unlockable via Season Challenge) and Oni Hime (special offer) appear alongside social features like Player Names and Friend Lists.

Anniversary Celebration Details

Since its May 23, 2012 launch, Subway Surfers has grown to 150 million monthly players with 4 billion downloads worldwide. The anniversary honors twelve years of virtual tourism across 199 cities.

From May 12 to June 1, players can collect travel-themed characters Loc and Stevie, new outfits, hoverboards, and special rewards.
